WILLIAMSON
RIVER

The Williamson River is one of Oregon’s most sought-after fly fishing destinations, offering anglers the chance to hook some of the largest wild Rainbow Trout in the lower 48. These fish—Klamath Basin Redband Trout—are a unique strain native to this region. They grow to incredible sizes in the nutrient-rich waters of Klamath and Agency Lakes, often measured in pounds rather than inches. As summer temperatures rise, these giants migrate into the cool, spring-fed waters of the Williamson River and its tributaries, creating an exceptional fishing opportunity from July through October.
The Experience
Our guided trips primarily take place from a drift boat, giving anglers the best shot at these powerful fish. All methods can be effective—dry flies, nymphs, and streamers—depending on the conditions. Full-day trips typically run about 9 hours, starting around 7 AM, with lunch provided. We recommend 5-7 wt rods with floating lines, and an intermediate sinking line can be helpful for streamers. If you don’t have your own gear, we’ll provide everything you need.
With prime dates booking quickly, we encourage you to reach out soon to reserve your spot. A day on the Williamson promises unforgettable fishing and the chance to connect with a true trophy Redband Trout.
