Bryon Salaz – Guide & Owner

I’ve been fortunate to live what many would call the “trout bum” lifestyle. Fly fishing has not only been my career but also a driving force in my free time. I’ve dedicated much of my life to exploring the waters of Oregon and beyond—always chasing the next fish willing to take a fly.

Growing up in Redmond, Oregon, with the Deschutes River right at my fingertips, my passion for fly fishing quickly grew into an obsession. It’s where I developed my skills, learned the nuances of trout and steelhead, and refined my techniques, patience, and approach to teaching others.

Now, I call Prineville home, where I live with my wife Sarah, our daughters Brydget and Mabel, and our dog Rosie. I began guiding with Cascade Guides and Outfitters in 2007 and am grateful for the time spent learning from some of the most talented anglers in the region.

Today, it’s with great pride that I lead guided fly fishing trips under the towering canyon walls of the Lower Deschutes and across the legendary waters of Central Oregon. My goal is to share my passion, knowledge, and love for these rivers—helping others create their own unforgettable fly fishing experiences.
